Before You Start

You'll need:

  • Velocity Review account
  • Zapier account (Free tier works)
  • Your Velocity Review API key

Get Your API Key

Generate an API key from your Velocity Review dashboard.

  1. Go to Dashboard → Settings
  2. Find the "API Key" section
  3. Click "Generate API Key"
  4. Copy the key — you'll need it in Zapier

Your API key provides full access to your account. Don't share it publicly.

Connect Zapier

Create a new Zap and authenticate with Velocity Review.

  1. Open Zapier and create a new Zap
  2. Search for and add "Velocity Review" as an app
  3. Choose any trigger or action
  4. When prompted, paste your API key
  5. Test the connection

The test endpoint verifies your API key is valid and returns your business information.

Test & Activate

Test your Zap before going live.

  1. Use sample data to test your trigger/action
  2. Send a live request to your own email/phone to verify end-to-end
  3. Check that the review request appears in Velocity Review
  4. Turn the Zap on when ready

Common Workflows

  • New customer in CRM → Send review request
  • Job completed → Send review request after delay
  • Payment received → Send review request

Troubleshooting

Auth fails: Regenerate your API key in Dashboard → Settings and try again.

No new reviews: Increase polling limit and check the since timestamp.

Request errors: Ensure required fields match the selected send_method (email requires email, SMS requires phone).
